During my undergraduate studies, I was encouraged to complement my Theatre Degree with an additional major in Art.  My first art class happened to be...you guessed it...Ceramics 1 in the spring of 2008.

I was hooked.  Specifically, I was attracted to the symmetry made possible by the wheel and the freedom and precision required to carve and add embellishments.  I must confess that I was reluctant to carve in the beginning because I feared the destruction of what I had worked so hard to create!  I had to squash that fear!

I began to flourish in both theatre and art; therefore, flourish was established in 2012.  I hope to offer others a pleasure and excitement similar to that which I receive while creating each piece.  Whether in the home or at the office, I believe a little flourish can go a long way to brighten one's day.

I was employed as a legal assistant for the last four plus years, the last 16 months of which was full time.  I found myself longing to create more and more with what seemed like less and less time to do so.  God has consistently told me to trust Him in my creative fields.  Thus, I am now pursuing this path full-time, excitedly traipsing into the unknown, anxious to see where it leads.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."  Jeremiah 29:11-14
